Aurora Selected for the New York Shorts International Film Festival

On Wednesday, October 16, Aurora will premiere at the New York Shorts International Film Festival in New York City.

Aurora

Aurora is a co-production between Non Rewind and Worldvisuals Film, starring Maartje Remmers and Raymond Thiry. It was shot in Iceland in January 2019 by director Bart Dokter. Aurora also has been selected for numerous other festivals in the last few years.

The fiction film follows Aurora as she takes her father to Iceland to see the northern lights together for the last time. This has a special meaning to both of them. They have a unique bond with Iceland, especially with the northern lights that can be seen there. The Father, however, carries with him a burden that seems to become heavier and heavier as the journey progresses.

New York Shorts International Film Festival

The 13th annual New York Shorts International Film Festival will feature 250 short films from 23 different countries. It celebrates short films that are essential for talent development and raising social awareness.

As the largest short film festival on the East Coast, it is also a qualifier for the Canadian Screen Awards, presented by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.

Premiere Information

The premiere of Aurora will take place on October 16th in Cinema Village Theater; 22 East 12th street, New York (Program 33 at 6:00 PM).
