Contact in première

On 6 November, the film Contact (40 min) premiered in front of a full house in theatre Ins blau in Leiden. More than a year ago, Kea Fogelberg (palliative care consultant) and Ron Visser (director) started shooting contact, a documentary that offers a special insight into the death guidance process. For months they followed general practitioner Ruud in his guidance of a patient in the last phase of life. The film, with accompanying manual for an educational workshop, has been specially developed for the education of doctors (in training), partly to stimulate human involvement in this process. CONTACT offers a special insight into the interaction between doctor and patient at the deathbed and inspires the viewer to reflect. This topic is about the question: ‘Who am I as a human being at the bedside of someone who is going to die?’
