Life Upside Down in competition for Best Dutch Short Film at Cinekid

Good news for Life Upside Down. The documentary by Barbara de Baare will be screened at the Cinekid film festival at Pathé Amsterdam-Noord. The documentary, produced by Worldvisuals Film in co-production with HUMAN, tells the story of 14-year-old David, a talented breakdancer from Zwolle, who has great ambitions and a unique story.

Best Dutch Short Film Competition

The film has been selected in the category ‘Best Dutch Short Film Competition 9+’, something we are very proud of! Every year, Cinekid presents a selection of the best Dutch short films for children in this competition. A jury of national children’s film professionals selects the Cinekid Lion Jury Award winner in each category. The director of the winning film receives a Cinekid Lion and prize money.

Life Upside Down is part of two short film programs: ‘Kids & Docs’, where five short documentaries will take you through five different topics, and ‘Dutch Gems #2’, a collection of the best short films made in the Netherlands last year.

Kids & Docs will be screened on Wednesday, October 30, from 10:45 to 12:36 in Hall 9.

Dutch Gems will be screened on Friday, November 1, from 15:30 to 17:07 in Hall 1.

Tickets are now available online via cinekid.nl

Also on TV

For those unable to attend Cinekid, HUMAN will broadcast the film on Monday, October 7, at 11:15 PM on NPO2. Afterward, it can also be watched on NPO Start. The film will also be shown at various international film festivals.
