Traineeship in Film Production – Become a Junior Producer at Worldvisuals Film

What does the traineeship involve?

In this unique year-long program, you will be trained to become an independent junior producer. You will learn the trade from the inside out: from financing and planning to impact strategy and execution. From day one, you’ll actively contribute to productions and develop your own film project. You’ll receive intensive guidance, coaching, and room to learn, grow, and experiment.

What will you do?

• Contribute to ongoing productions at Worldvisuals

• Provide support to Worldvisuals South Africa

• Assist with the Clarens Festival of Lights project

• Independently develop and initiate a production idea

• Learn to apply for grants and funding

• Coordinate budgets, shoot schedules, and logistics

• Participate in filming days as producer/assistant

• Learn to apply impact strategies and distribution

• Attend film festivals, networking events, and workshops

You’ll function as a full junior producer, taking on significant responsibility, and by the end of the year, you’ll be equipped to produce independently.

Who are we looking for?

• A mid-career creator, experience with filmproduction

• Passionate about film, storytelling, and social issues

• Independent, proactive, and organized

• HBO or university-level thinking

• Skilled in Excel, ChatGPT, Google Suite, and common office programs.

• No prior grant-writing experience required – just motivation to learn

• Fluent in English, preferably also Spanish. Optional Dutch.

• Living in Amsterdam or in the surroundings.

The position is for one year, with a mid-term evaluation after six months.
